Accu-Chek & Diabetes Express are providing an opportunity for an evening of inspiration & learning with guest speaker, Captain Stephen C. Steele in several cities & dates in Ontario during the months of March & April 2014.

Captain Stephen C. Steele shares the following:

"I am an Airline Pilot with Air Canada, and a former lawyer.  I currently fly a Boeing 777 on international routes.  My usual destinations include Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai in China and occasionally, Tokyo, Japan, London England and Frankfurt German.  I have been involved in aviation for 41 years as a pilot and flight instructor and I have an extensive background in airline flight training development and human factors in aviation.  I am at present, one of only five Airline Pilots in the world who are allowed to fly jet transport aircraft while taking insulin.  I have had insulin dependant diabetes for 27 years now and have used an insuin pump for the last 17 years to control my diabetes.  I have been happily married for the past 26 years and I have two sons ages 21 & 23.  My hobbies include military history, especially the War of 1812 and its impact on the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake where I reside, reading, and public speaking.  I am a volunteer at the Niagara Historical Society Museum and a volunteer speaker with the Canadian Diabetes Association and I enjoy speaking with people about living with diabetes."
